About the Centre
For the past few years the country has been witnessing a media revolution. Media industry in general as well as news and entertainment sector in particular have expanded tremendously. This has opened vast professional opportunities thus emphasizing the need for trained human resource in news and entertainment industry, academia as well as research and development sectors.
The Centre for Media and Mass Communication Studies (CMMS) which offers a three-year degree course in Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication, strives to create new bridges between media education, industry and development sectors.
Now a days a journalist is expected not only to write news and articles but also shoot photos and videos besides being well versed with web tools. Multi-media communication has become order of the day.
The course has been designed to train aspiring media candidates in developing technical skills of audio-video editing, anchoring, content writing, photography, media reporting etc.
After completing the course the students have the opportunity to work with TV news channels, Radio Broadcasting, Print Media, Digital Journalism and Corporate communication. The course provides on the job training of the highest standard and also enhances entrepreneur skills.

Duration: 03 years
Eligibility: Passed 10+2 examination or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized board/ institution with at least 50%.
Selection Procedure: The admission to this programme will be on the basis of merit of the first five subjects in the qualifying examination.
