It was conceived long back as an integrated centre of higher learning and healthcare in Unani Tibb (medicine) by Padam Shree and Padma Bhushan, Late Hakeem Abdul Hameed Sb. The Free health camps are regularly organized jointly by the Clinical departments of School of Unani Medicine and Surgery (SUMER) and Majeedia Unani Hospital. The faculties, hospital staff and students of both PG and UG level are involved actively in these health care programmes. Medical camps are conducted to carry out health promotion, education, awareness, screening, counselling and preventive healthcare services to deprived, underprivileged and poor community in nearby rural areas. All the service activities (medical consultation, therapies, investigations, free medicine distribution etc.) at the camps are rendered free of charge to the attendees at the camp.
