Every year Ghalib Institute, New Delhi, organises Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Memorial Lecture on his birthday, i.e. 13th May. Eminent personalities like Mr. Inder Kumar Gujaral, Mr. Chandra Sekhar (former Prime Ministers), Mr. Vasant Sathe, Dr. Karan Singh, Justice Mr. A.M. Ahmadi, Justice Mr. Markandey Katju, Mr. Kuldeep Nayyar, Mr. Mani Shankar Iyer to name a few have delivered this Lecture in the past.
Prof. (Dr) Seyed E. Hasnain, Vice-Chancellor, delivered this year’s Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Memorial Lecture on “Transforming Higher Education in India: Challenges Ahead” on 13th May 2017 at the Aiwan-e-Ghalib, New Delhi. The programme was presided over by Justice Mr. A.M. Ahmadi, former Chief Justice of India. Hon’ble Justice Badar Durrez Ahmad, Chief Justice, J&K High Court was the Guest of Honour.

IEEE is the largest technical profession association. It is dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. Currently it has more than 4 lakhs member spread over 160 countries.
IEEE students chapter is recently established in FET , having around 70 student members. IEEE conducts several International level competition regularly to students of different branches. IEEEXtreme 9.0, 24 . hours programming completion is an international annual competition organized by IEEE. This year IEEEXtreme 9.0 was held on 24th October 2015 where 9123 students comprising 3041 teams participated internationally (160 countries).
03 teams (9 students) of Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology participated in the IEEEXtreme 9.0 – 24 hour international programming competition. This is a matter of pride and honor that one of the teams “Orion” consisting of Mohd. Murad, Mohd. Amini and Sonal Dwivedi, B.Tech. 5thSemester students secured 42nd rank at national level and 661 rank at International level.
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit Society for the Technical Education System in India with the motto of career Development of teachers and personality development of students and over all development of Technical Education system in India.
ISTE on the basis of number of activities carried out by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering during the year 2015 conferred as “Best Chapter of ISTE Delhi Section”. The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) will present the award during the 45th Annual Convention of ISTE on 11th January 2016 at HVPM’s College of Engineering and Technology, Amravati.
