The Office of the DSW, Eco Club, Jamia Hamdard, cordially invites you all to the Community Outreach Event for the observation of International Day of Forests and World Poetry Day.

 

The UN General Assembly proclaimed 21st March as the International Day of Forests in 2012. The theme for 2022 is "Forests and sustainable production and consumption."

 

 UNESCO first adopted 21st March as World Poetry Day during its 30th General Conference in Paris in 1999, with the aim of supporting linguistic diversity through poetic expression and increasing the opportunity for endangered languages, and promoting the reading, writing, and teaching of poetry for social and environmental causes.

 

The Eco Club, Shamrock’s student team will conduct a Community Outreach Event in association with Feedtheneedy50 Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which work to contribute towards sustainable development goal 2,3,4,5,13 through the social and economic development of the communities through the development of youth and application of knowledge, towards the development of a sustainable society that promotes and protects the equality, social justice and Human Rights for all.

Venue: Noor Nagar Ex, Okhla New Delhi-25

 

Event’s Vision- The slums on the outskirts of Delhi city have always been on every common privilege. The NGO volunteers teach slum children from class 1 to class 5 on Saturday and Sunday. The ECO CLUB Shamrock’s student team celebrates this World Forest Day with World Poetry Day inclusive of students living in slums for-

SPREADING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS, SMILES, AND TOGETHERNESS.”

Event’s Activities-

  • Let’s Talk Trees: Making students aware of nature with the help of their own public park, imparting knowledge on the importance of trees.
  • Playing with Words: Teaching students’ poems on trees and their uses, environment conservation.
  • Perky planting: Students plant saplings with poem recitation along with the Eco-club student team.
