Department of Rehabilitation Sciences

Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.



          Started in the year 1998, this department offers Master and Bachelor courses in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. The Master course in Physiotherapy is offered in four disciplines of Osteomyology, Cardiopulmonary, Neurology and Sports Health whereas the Master course in Occupational Therapy is offered in the discipline of Orthopaedics and Paediatrics. With a view to provide practical training to the students, a modern Rehabilitation Centre has been set up in the Majeedia Hospital of the university. The department is headed by Prof. Mohd. Farooq, who is an eminent teacher and orthopaedic surgeon. Presently the full time faculty members in the department include one Professor, one Reader and four Lecturers

Reader in Anatomy– One post

  • M.B.B.S. with MD/M.S. in Anatomy from a recognized institution

  • Five years of experience of teaching/research

Reader in Physiotherapy- One post

  • Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the university system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degree in Physiotherapy..

  • Five years of experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by the quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.

OR

  • Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degree in Physiotherapy Therapy from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University

  • Eight years of experience of teaching/Clinical practice/research in a reputed institution /hospital.

Reader in Occupational Therapy- One post

  • Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the university system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degreein Occupational Therapy.

OR

  • Eight years of experience of teaching/Clinical practice/research in a reputed institution /hospital.

Lecturer in Physiotherapy – One post

  • Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.


  • Preferred Specializations: Sports Physiotherapy/Cardio Pulmonary/ Neurology.

Lecturer in Occupational Therapy – Two posts

  • Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

    Available Specializations: Orthopaedics/Paediatrics
