Selection of Jamia Hamdard in UGCs scheme on Promotion of Indian Higher Education Abroad (PIHEAD)
The Chairman UGC vide its letter No. F. 1-73/2004(Cm) March 18, 2004 (copy enclosed) has informed that Jamia Hamdard has been selected by the University Grants Commission as one of the universities to attract the foreign students in India. The UGC has initiated a new scheme on ‘Promotion of Indian Higher Education Abroad (PIHEAD). The UGC had organised a number of meetings with the Vice Chancellors, international educators, international students groups and other eminent persons connected with international education. This Committee has selected Jamia Hamdard after a comprehensive exercise in which the quality of education offered in different universities was examined by the UGC in detail.
